A Special Sunday

I am having a hard time to describe with words how special Sunday was, so I will do my best. (I will try to post pictures soon, I didn't get any good ones, so I am getting some from a friend.)
Sunday morning at 5:30am a group from our church went walking through Sandy Bay anointing and praying for the people. Yourgin and his group went around our neighborhood.
Then in the afternoon around 4:30pm we all loaded on buses and in the back of trucks, with flags, or signs, or anything to wave and waited for about an hour before everyone was ready then we made a caravan to the stadium in Los Fuertes it took about an hour or more to get there. Everyone was yelling, horns were blowing, it was so fun to see everyone so excited. One young man made a sign that said "Roatan para Cristo"

When we made it to the stadium people kept coming and coming. By the time the service started the bleachers were so full, there were several hundred plastic chairs spread out on the field, and still more people were standing.

This picture was taken as we were arriving, at least an hour before the service started.

The thing about it that made it so special was the unity of believers. There were many different churches and denominations there but such unity. We all had been bound together by praying and fasting all week for Roatan and all of Honduras. We had a wonderful enthusiastic time of worship. Everyone was just wanting to glorify and lift up the name of Jesus. Several pastors got up and gave testimonies, others got up and prayed, and everyone was encouraged by what God is doing in Roatan.

"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." 2Chronicles 7:14

Thank you for your prayers for Roatan and Honduras. In the days, months, and years to come I pray that there will be many testimonies of people turning to God for forgiveness and also for this land to be healed.

Refreshing Morning Rain

This morning we woke up to a wonderful rain storm. We love rain.

In our colonia we do not have community water. We depend on the rain or friends to truck water in. Water is precious to us so we try to make the most of each drop.

Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; Sing praise on the harp to our God,

Who covers the heavens with clouds,

Who prepares rain for the earth,

Who makes grass to grow on the mountians.

Psalm 147:7-8

168 hours of prayer and fasting.

The churches in Roatan and all across Honduras are taking a week to pray and fast for Honduras. At our church we are doing a prayer chain, everyone is taking one hour night and day to pray. You cannot leave the church until someone comes and takes your spot. My time to go is from 11:00 am to 12 noon. Yourgin has to get up in the middle of the night from 1:00am to 2:00am. There is a list of prayer requests for the country that we pass on to the person who comes after us. On Saturday there is prayer at the Municipal building for the government, and on Sunday there will be people all over anointing the island. Some by air, boat, cars or on foot. Then Sunday evening will be a united Church service at the Statium in Los Fuertes. It is so amazing to think of what is happening here in this little country. People are being commited to seek God for change. I am excited to see the results.

"Call to me and I will answer you, and I will show you great and mighty things, which you do not know. " Jeremiah 33:3
The prayer started on Sunday night, right now as I am writing this, we just got a call from someone we have known a long time and she and her family want to come to church, she wanted to know the times of service. Wow! The Holy Spirit is working, touching peoples lives.
If you want to join in praying for Honduras this week please do and read Joel 2:12-32.
